Warsmith on Juggernaut Nearly Done
by dnyarak on Jul.23, 2009, under WIP
I have nearly finished my Warsmith on a Juggernaut of Khorne (initial post here). I love the sculpt of the model, in fact that is the reason I got it (actually my wonderful wife gave it to me last Christmas!). I did very little modification to the model itself to pull it into the 4ok universe, but by the very nature of Chaos, it can easy pass off as archaic MkI, a bit twisted by the warp.
I did the base coat just I did any of my normal Iron Warriors: Mithril Silver and Shining Gold, Devlan Mud and Badab Black wash. The metals were then re-dry brushed before washing with Baal Red and Ogryn Flesh.
Still left to do is the power weapon, shoulder plate XIV, pouches, and the base.

Holy jeebus that looks sweet. So ‘borrowing’ your metal method.
Thanks much for sharing this.

Thanks Liam! The red metal was experiment but I’m happy with how it turned out, though if you do use this, I would recommend either mixing the Baal Red with black or just use the Ogryn Flesh. When I first put the red over the silver it made it pink looking (which is not cool!). I just realized though that I haven’t actually done those last few things to finish this guy, I’ll have to do that this weekend

Just wanted to say that your jugg looks great! What order did you do the washes in? I’ve been trying to get a similar look on one of my models, but can’t get a red enough hue for my liking. I agree that the Baal Red comes out far too pink.

Thanks! I don’t remember exactly which order but I typically start with the black then mud wash. For this model I then added the red wash before re-dry brushing silver. I then washed with the red then ogryn flesh. I may add a thin blue wash when I get back to this to try to tone down the pink.
